A weekly NFL talk show. From game and player transaction analysis to rumor discussion and award predictions, Under Center has it all. MLB, NHL, and NBA also occasionally discussed.
You never know what you’ll hear next on this fun mix of tunes from across the decades and musical genres. Typically I’ll play punk, industrial, new wave, metal, and/or a bunch of local bands, but sometimes I’ll play funk, rock, blues, hip-hop, jazz, reggae, electronica, country, rockabilly, African, soul, classical, go-go, gospel, cajun, or whatever else I can think of.
Playing music that is on our minds.
Co-Hosted by Jeff McDonald and Jim Desborough, this show has been on the air since October 2008. Our goal is to introduce listeners to music they may not have ever heard before. There is no focus genre format but the “fallback” genres of choice reflect the primary interests of the Co-Hosts. For Jim, that means Blues and R&B. For Jeff, that means early reggae and rocksteady. With all that said, it’s just as likely that we develop a theme which may run from “Honkeytonk” to “songs about numbers” in order to introduce listeners to classic and rare or obscure artists and tracks that they would not otherwise be exposed to.
The mainstream has taught us that the few represent the many. That an artist only has 1 or 2 singles that are fit for broadcast. On Hip-Hop 101 the mission is simple: To break the mold by bringing you songs that were never released for radio play by your favorite artists that you will hear only on our show, reintroduce you to the classics that you fell in love with in the first place, and put you on to something new, not just underground.
